POP CULTURE NEWS 267
The Pop Culture News Bulletin is a weekly roundup of the recent and trending news stories in the entertainment industry or stories that fall into the pop culture subcategory. Every Friday we feature stories that fit the content we frequently cover
In news that RW should have added to the Pop Culture roundup from a couple weeks ago, the Sherlock canon is getting a rom-com (!!) angle! Set to debut in 2027, a “limited series” currently titled Scarlett Holmes will follow a descendant of Sherlock Holmes, our titular Scarlett, who has those impressive observation powers which she uses to help with romantic curiosities and entanglements. Lucy Hale will star (and EP) in this series produced by Jaggi Entertainment and debuting on Roku. How do you think a rom-com in the Sherlock world will land?
BritBox offered another look at the upcoming The Other Bennet Sister Special. Described as a three-part special, the series is, in part, looking to catch up with Mary Bennet as she settles into her life as a newlywed. Take a look at an already released (from a while ago) photo (on right) and a newer one from this past week below. (Below photos: The Other Bennet Sister Special from BritBox)

More things dropped this week for the upcoming Pride and Prejudice, a miniseries from Jane Austen that Netflix is giving their own take on. The series will star Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden in the iconic roles of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. You can see the limited series on December third only on Netflix. See the full trailer below.
In a fun pop culture collab, Selena Gomez recruited Demi Lovato for a campaign for her Rare Beauty brand. In it, the pair recreated not just nostalgic sets for the generation who grew up loving them but also the promotional poster of their Disney channel original movie Princess Protection Program. See the Instagram post.
