Black Friday may be a few weeks away, but it’s already prime time for finding discounts on all things Nintendo — including Switch 2 games and consoles. Markdowns on Nintendo games, consoles, and accessories are incredibly rare outside of the holiday shopping season, making even the smallest rollbacks enticing offers for parents and collectors alike. You can already find great deals at Best Buy, Amazon, and other retailers.

When is Black Friday?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the US, and this year it falls on Nov. 27. Cyber Monday kicks off the week after Thanksgiving, and falls on Nov. 30, though you’ll still have plenty of shopping days left after to check everyone off your holiday gift list.

Are Nintendo Switch consoles, games, and accessories really cheaper during Cyber Week?
The holiday shopping season is about the only time during the year, outside of special announcements and Nintendo Direct presentations, when you’ll see any sort of discount on all things Nintendo. It is incredibly rare to see a meaningful markdown on a Nintendo console, game, or officially branded accessory, even years after release. So while the deals might not be super impressive, Nintendo is such a hot brand that even a rollback as little as $10 on a console or a few dollars on a new game title is enough to have stock flying off the shelves even faster than usual.
Is the Switch 2 backward compatible with Nintendo Switch games and accessories?
Parents and collectors can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the Switch 2 console has broad backward compatibility with physical games released for the original Switch system. You can check if your favorite game is compatible with both systems by using the search function on Nintendo’s website; each game’s webpage has information on compatibility with both Switch systems. If the game you want isn’t compatible, you can download a Switch 2 “upgrade” that makes your already-purchased physical and digital games work with your new console – for a fee, of course.
