Penticton is celebrating the love for all things Pop-Culture and Fantasy with the return of Penti-Con, a two-day event celebrating a wide range of different interests, including anime, movies, video games, board games, collectibles, and more. Happening at the Penticton Trade and Convention Center, the event runs both Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, from 10 am to 6 pm.
The annual convention plans to feature a fun array of activities, including Cosplay Contests, a Lip Sync Party, Karaoke, a Talent Show, Special Guests, and more! There’s a little something for everyone to explore, and tons of artists and vendors will be out selling their work in the vendor hall.
Started in 2017, the event has grown each year and brings fans from across the Okanagan and neighbouring communities. Fans dress up as their favourite characters from their shows, movies, games, books, and partake in photo ops with guests and other like-minded fans. If you see a costume you like, it’s important to ask for consent from the person in costume.

Cosplaying is a huge part of conventions, and many cosplayers can sink hundreds of hours into some of their costumes. From 3D foam to sewing their own clothes, many start from scratch and have developed fine craftsmanship and skill in building their custom outfits. From oversized prop weapons to intricate jewelry, the attention to detail can be impressive.
Board games, Card Games, and tabletop roleplaying will also be happening throughout the event, so make sure to take a look at the event schedule to see if there are any games you might want to play. There will also be lots of fun crafts to learn and do, including origami and chainmail making.
Admission prices are as follows:
- Adult: $28 for a single-day pass or $42 for a weekend pass.
- Youth (ages 13–17): $18 for a single-day pass or $30 for a weekend pass.
- Family Pass (up to 2 adults and 3 youth): $58 for a single day or $85 for the weekend.
Because the event is also on Halloween, some vendors will have some candy to give away to kids between 11 am and 12 pm.
