Police leave open all possibilities of escape and accidents and track whereabouts
While the former CEO of the production company that produced the Disney+ series “Casino” has been missing for about four months, it has recently been reported that he was sued for embezzlement worth 1.5 billion won. The police are finding out where A is, leaving both escape and the possibility of an accident open.
According to a report by the Chosun Ilbo on the 29th, A, a former terrestrial PD, founded a content production company in 2019 and served as the CEO of Arc Media (currently Thin & Studio). ArcMedia produced Disney+ original series “Casino” starring Choi Min-sik.
Since then, A has been hired as an in-house director of B, an auto parts company that was pushing to enter the entertainment business last year.
It has been since early July that A’s whereabouts have not been confirmed. When he/she did not return home for a long time, his/her family reported him/her missing to the police, and the Ilsan Seobu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province has been tracking the location based on the movement captured on CCTV and the location where the mobile phone was last turned off.
In the process, the case took a new turn as A was accused of embezzlement. Company B filed a complaint with the police at the end of July, saying it confirmed that A embezzled 1.5 billion won in company funds. The amount is reported to be 1.14% of Company B’s equity capital.
As Mr. A became a criminal case suspect, the disappearance investigation and embezzlement investigation are underway at the same time. The police reportedly found it difficult to provide information related to A’s survival and whereabouts to his family, such as credit card use and mobile phone call details, in consideration of concerns about leakage of investigation information.
However, it has not yet been confirmed whether there is a direct connection between A’s disappearance and embezzlement charges.
The police are tracking the whereabouts with both the possibility that A intentionally disappeared from the investigation and the possibility of an accident.
The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul, which is investigating the embezzlement case, is investigating the case by sharing related information with Ilsan Seobu Police Station, which is in charge of investigating A’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, “Casino” is a crime drama about the turbulent life of Cha Moo-sik (Choi Min-sik), who entered the casino industry in the background of the Philippines, and the stories of characters who track him down.
