Fans packed American Family Field late into the night to watch the <a href="https://comicvibe.com/31000-milwaukee-brewers-fans-watch-game-4-from-american-family-field/" title="31,000 Milwaukee Brewers fans watch Game 4 from American Family Field”>Milwaukee Brewers fall 4-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays in 12 innings, forcing a Game 5 and denying Milwaukee a four-game World Series sweep
A sellout watch party crowd stayed through three extra innings to watch the game from St. Petersburg on the AmFam Field scoreboard.
Cooper Pratt hit a home run in the top of the 12th inning to give Milwaukee the lead, only to have it erased when the Rays rallied for a walk-off win in the bottom of the inning at Tropicana Field.
The Brewers still lead the series 3-1 heading into Game 5 Wednesday night at the Rays’ Tropicana Field. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
Game 6 will be played in Milwaukee no matter the outcome of Game 5.
Despite the disappointment, fans said they were grateful and looking forward to the next game.
“Hope the crew can close it out,” fan Chase Flack from Milwaukee said. “It was very cool. Everybody here packed in and all excited and cheering and shirts off and everything. It was really cool,” one fan said.
“It only counts as one. It’s one more day. There’s a game tomorrow. And even so, they have come back to play Game 6 here no matter what,” said fan Brandon Morreale from Fox Point. “Let’s keep positive.”
Another watch party is expected Wednesday night at American Family Field. No ticket information had been posted on the Brewers website as of 5:30 a.m. morning.
Watch party tickets for Games 3 and 4 were $15 each and sold out quickly, and a similar demand is expected for Game 5.
Some watch party tickets were going for more than tickets to get into the World Series game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, showing the dedication of Brewers fans.
