Wis. (Northern News Now) – Milwaukee Brewers fans gathered in Superior on Tuesday night to watch Game 4 of the World Series
Mya Sommers, a generational Brewers fan, was celebrating with friends at Gronk’s Grill and Bar.
“Most of us are from Wisconsin and live in Duluth, and so when we finally get the chance to celebrate something for Wisconsin, it’s just really fun for all of us,” Sommers said.
Sommers said watching the Brewers play was extra special because their dad shared his love of the team with them at an early age.
“To be part of something that’s really important to my dad, and history is important to me too,” Sommers said.
Henry Burns, a Brewers fan since childhood, said he first fell in love with the team at his first Brewers game, when he was a Boy Scout. Burns continues to see the team play live.
“Through high school, we would just go to Twins-Brewers games whenever they played each other and get these $20 top-of-the-stadium seats,” Burns said
Across town at Jacks Bar in Superior, fans also gathered to watch the game.
Kyle Cosgrove, a Brewers fan since childhood, and his friend Ava Emerson saw the first game of the World Series in Milwaukee last week. Cosgrove and Emerson said a win Tuesday is a win for everyone.
“I think the Brewers hold a lot of significance outside of Milwaukee. They’re really the state’s team, and the state’s behind them, and I think it would mean a lot to a lot of people if they could get it done,” Cosgrove said.
