Wis. (WBAY) — Fans filled American Family Field Monday night for a watch party during World Series Game 3, even though the Brewers were playing about 1,300 miles away
As fans arrived before first pitch, many carried World Series merchandise or brats. When the gates opened, hundreds went to the team store before exploring the ballpark.
Many of the fans in attendance said they secured their tickets within minutes of them going on sale last Thursday morning.
Lee Ellis, of Milwaukee, said he believes Milwaukee stands out among baseball cities.
“Milwaukee is different and unique. You know, Tampa Bay is not a baseball town. We can tell that by ticket prices. But Milwaukee fans are number one,” Ellis said.
Daniel Jahn, of Oak Creek, said he expects the series to end in four games.
“I told some people in my family that it’s going to be just four games. Don’t jinx them. Don’t say that. And so, I think it’s going to be four games,” Jahn said.
Fans were also asked about facing former Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta in Game 3. They said they still have support for Peralta but hope the Brewers’ offense can get to him early.
