In the run-up to Election Day, TCM will screen 50 films on nine consecutive Fridays to appeal to the popular vote of movie lovers. Making a Change: The Most Important Political Film of All Time.
The series, which airs from September 6 to November 1, four days before America votes to elect its next president, features TCM host Ben Mankiewicz with Stevens Speier Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee, Lee Grant, Sally Field, Andy Garcia, Melissa Etheridge In conversation with John Turturro, Bill Maher, Alexander Payne, Diane Lane, Josh Mankiewicz, Barry Levinson, Maureen Dodd, Stacy E Brahms and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

“I grew up knowing that politics is intertwined with our culture every day, whether we like it or not,” Ben Mankiewicz (Josh’s brother) said in a statement. “Movies have been a barometer of our political climate since before the advent of talkies.
“This series brings filmmakers, actors, politicians, and journalists together on TCM to discuss a diverse selection of great films. Along the way, we’ll discuss how great films have successfully predicted, reflected, and challenged political culture.
