The new project follows the previousMilky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited ExpressCG anime series, which was broadcasted on Japanese television andreleased on YouTubebetween July 2025 to September 2025. Twelve short episodes were released and had dubbing and subtitles for multiple languages, including English.
The anime was later edited into atheatrical compilationwith new scenes and released in Japan in February 2026 under the titleMilky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express — Kakuekiteisha Gekijo Iki. It was laterreleased on Netflix in June 2026with the titleMilky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express
