Ghostsstar Ben Willbond has opened up about the difficulties television creators face in 2026 when pitching to get new shows made.
The hit BBC series ended in 2023, but its stars have reunited for a new film, Ghosts: The Possession of Button House.
Co-creator Jim Howick told the BBC that the writers felt the same impulse to collaborate again as they did following the end of Horrible Histories and the Ghosts TV series.
Asked about what lies ahead for the group in light of these comments, Willbond told The Independent: “I really hope we can devise something and sell something else, but it’s really hard at the moment. It’s really hard to sell TV shows, and I hate to be so commercial about it, but that’s what it is.
“You’re, you’re putting an idea together, and you’re going to a streamer or a broadcaster and saying, ‘We reckon this will be really, really cool,’ and they have to take you on faith, but it’s getting harder.”
Ghosts: The Possession of Button Houseis in UK cinemas from Friday, 23 October.
