GameSir has introduced an officially licensed Fortnite Mobile Controller Collection featuring the G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and the X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition. Facilitated by IMG Licensing, the collaboration brings Fortnite-inspired designs to both models, each designed for mobile gaming and bundled with a digital in-game bonus item.
The two models serve different needs. The G8 Plus offers configurable controls alongside a console-inspired design, whereas the X5 Lite for Xbox emphasises portability. GameSir identifies Fortnite’s Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload and developer-made games among the experiences the controllers are intended to support.
G8 Plus offers Hall Effect thumbsticks and customisable controls
Featuring console-inspired ergonomics intended for extended gaming sessions, the G8 Plus Fortnite Edition incorporates drift-resistant Hall Effect thumbsticks and mappable rear buttons that allow players to personalise their controls. GameSir identifies faster in-game edits as one potential use for the rear buttons. In addition to supporting multiple gaming platforms, the controller’s Fortnite-specific design extends to themed artwork and collectible packaging.
Six different emotes are offered across the G8 Plus editions: the Bully Emote, Burpee Emote, Gun Show Emote, Page-Turner Emote, Go! Go! Go! Emote and Harmoney Emote. The bonus item included depends on which controller edition is purchased, with different designs associated with different rewards. Promotional imagery from GameSir connects several of these rewards to particular designs, picturing a yellow-and-blue G8 Plus with the Bully Emote, a pink version with the Burpee Emote and a black-and-green version with the Gun Show Emote.
X5 Lite for Xbox focuses on portable gaming
Presented as a portable alternative, the X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition features an ultra-lightweight design and controls optimised for mobile gameplay. GameSir also lists responsive wireless performance and Fortnite-inspired styling among its features.
Rewards for the X5 Lite comprise four gliders and one emote: the Extra Cheese Glider, Storm Sigil Glider, Cerberus Glider, Snow Squall Glider and On Your Mark… Emote. As with the G8 Plus, the bonus item depends on the particular edition purchased. Accompanying images link individual designs to specific in-game items, identifying a Durr Burger Edition bundled with the Extra Cheese Glider, a Jonesy Edition with the On Your Mark… Emote and a Black Knight Edition with the Storm Sigil Glider among the themed versions shown for the X5 Lite.
Pricing and availability
The G8 Plus Fortnite Edition is available through GameSir.com, Amazon US and Amazon UK, with prices starting at US$89.99, £89.99 and €109.99. GameSir specifies that the yellow and pink versions are offered through the two Amazon marketplaces.
Providing a lower-priced option within the collection, the X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition is available through the same three retail channels. Prices for the model start at US$49.99, £55.99 and €65.99.
