TWICE leader Jihyo has officially left JYP Entertainment after 21 years with the South Korean agency, announcing her departure on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, alongside the establishment of her own agency, EMITHAUS.

The 29-year-old singer, whose full name is Park Ji-hyo, shared the news in a statementon Instagram, reflecting on her long association with the company, which she joined at the age of eight.

“I will be bringing my journey with JYP, which has been with me since childhood for 21 years, to a close,” she said.

Jihyo expressed gratitude to the agency for supporting her development, acknowledging that her experiences had shaped her as an artist.

She also explained that becoming independent was about making decisions for her future rather than ending a chapter of her life.

“As I move beyond familiar surroundings and continue my work in new ways, I will approach every decision and activity from here on with even greater care and a stronger sense of responsibility,” she added.

The singer reassured fans that her departure would not affect her commitment to TWICE, the K-pop girl group that debuted in 2015.

She described the group as an irreplaceable part of her life and expressed hope that she would continue performing alongside her fellow members.

Jihyo’s announcement follows similar developments involving groupmates Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung. Jeongyeon has joined Varo Entertainment to pursue acting, while Chaeyoung is working on her Lil Fantasy project.

The solo contract status of the remaining six members — Nayeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun and Tzuyu — has yet to be announced.
