Carson Daly has nothing but love for the generation that has nothing but love for him.
Carson had some kind words in response to an Oct. 16 Instagram post celebrating what he has meant to millennials.
“Carson Daly has been aging alongside millennials for 25 years, and I don’t think we’re talking about it enough,” the post began. “In our teens, he was for us after school on ‘TRL.’ In our 20s, he stayed up late with us. In our 30s, he traded music videos for a prime time singing competition.
“And now, in our 40s, he’s up at 7 a.m. on the TODAY show, drinking coffee and discussing age-appropriate concerns. The man has been holding the door open for an entire generation. By 2049, he’ll be explaining Medicare Advantages to us. And honestly? I trust him.”
Jenna Bush Hager read the post Oct. 20 on TODAY.
“I know you hate stuff like this,” she told him.
“I don’t know the gentleman that made that, but I commented in the comment section thank you. It’s nice that the internet could provide something that felt good, and I thanked him and (it was) very nice,” Carson said.
Other commenters also shared the love for Carson.
“He’s our generations Dick Clark,” one person wrote.
“Carson Daly is our generation representative,” another commented.
“He’s like the most consistent person in my life,” someone else wrote.
“That is high praise,” Al Roker said in response.
“We love you, Carson. I know you hate this, so, from the little sister you wish you never had,” Jenna said as she gave him a hug.
Carson did more than just say thank you in the post.
“Been a true honor to ‘do life’ with so many of you:) May as well get a Medicare jump start,” he wrote before diving into some details.

Carson has indeed been a stalwart on TV for nearly three decades. He rose to national prominence hosting MTV’s “TRL” from 1998 until 2003. He also hosted the late-night interview program “Last Call” on NBC from 2002 until 2019. In 2011, he started hosting “The Voice,” which he also produces. He has also been with TODAY since 2013.
