You’ve probably already made your way through the entirety of A24’s film back catalogue – from Spring Breakers right through to Primetime. Maybe you even have all of the upcoming A24 releases for the year pencilled into your diary. But are you as well versed in their repository of TV shows? You might have already watched a few (like Euphoria) without even realising that the indie film production studio was behind it. But others, you may not be so familiar with.
As with all of A24’s projects, nothing is ever quite straightforward in their storytelling – and that goes for their television series’ too. Whether it’s a story about a newlywed couple building an eco-home in Mexico, roped into a reality TV show, or a cult vampire tale based on an 80s neo-Western film – they’re always keeping us on our toes in the best way.
So, if you’re looking for a new show to binge that’s a little more provocative, surreal, crazed or downright bizarre – here’s our definitive list of A24 TV shows to watch next.
1. Playing House (2014)
Where to watch: Rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video or the Google Play Store.
The very first TV series ever produced by A24. It’s an American sitcom that stars Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair as childhood best friends now forced to raise a baby together. Its reviews hold up well – a 90% Tomatometer score and a 91% Popcornmeter. It’s great for a bit of snappy banter, but at its heart it’s an earnest celebration of female friendship
2. The Idol (2023)
Who could forget this ridiculous show and its ridiculously stacked cast? Troye Sivan, Jennie, Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef… it really was a kind of pop star fever dream. Of course, it was also pretty mired in controversy (which you can Google for yourself), but there are a few staunch fans of this show who ride and die for it.
3. The Curse (2023)
Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie are at the centre of this series about a newlywed couple building an eco-home in Mexico, who are roped into a reality TV show. Probably one of the more original plot lines for a TV show you’ve heard in a minute, huh? Fielder is obviously having a huge moment right now with his A24 documentary on Elizabeth Holmes, You Can See Everything, so this is a good opportunity to go back and visit some of his best work.
4. Moonbase 8 (2020)
Where to watch:Rent or purchase on Google Play Store
Somehow, A24 managed to corral together three comedy greats for this show about three astronauts stationed at NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in a remote part of the Arizona desert. There’s not much we wouldn’t sit down to watch starring John C. Reilly, Fred Armisen and Tim Heidecker. This one has that cozy, deadpan, low-key charm you’ll want from your next comfort watch.
5. Margo’s Got Money Troubles (2026)
Another stellar cast list including the likes of Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfieffer – this book-to-TV adaptation received eight nominations at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards (and won for costuming, hair and makeup). It follows 20-year-old college dropout and newly single mother Margo Millet who turns to starting an OnlyFans account for money.
6. Overcompensating (2025)
If you’re already a ride-or-die listener of Benito Skinner and Mary Beth Barone’s podcast Ride, you’ll already be aware of this TV show they produced and starred in. With a second season already on the way, we’re excited for more time spent with the icon that is Hailee Marie Matthews.
7. Beef (2023–2026)
Who can forget when this limited series first debuted in 2023 and simply swept the Emmys with a total of eight wins? And just when we thought we could never match up to the iconic fight between Steven Yeun and Ali Wong in season one, we got a second season starring a cast of A24 all-stars like Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny. Probably some of A24’s most binge-able TV.
8. Ziwe (2021–2022)
Ziwe Fumudoh’s satirical late-night show is all about cringe-comedy and skewering race, politics, and pop-culture hypocrisy. Fumudoh had everyone on from Fran Leibowitz to Phoebe Bridgers and Gloria Steinam.
9. Comrade Detective (2017)
Where to watch:Rent or purchase on Apple TV Store and Google Play Store
There’s nothing more universal than a buddy cop series – and this is A24’s iteration. There’s a sort of show-ception going on here, with our leading duo being at the helm of a fictional 1980s Romanian police drama, originally conceived as Communist propaganda, that sees two detectives investigating the murder of a fellow officer and uncovering a sinister capitalist plot to undermine their country.
10. Crystal Lake (2026)
Horror fans will be aware that Crystal Lake is a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise. And this eight-episode miniseries follows single, grieving mother Pam Voorhees, who is met by two strangers digging into her past.
11. Random Acts of Flyness (2018)
If you’re after something that feels genuinely experimental, Random Acts of Flyness should be high on your list. Created and directed by artist Terence Nance, this surreal sketch series blends satire, animation, music and unconventional storytelling to explore race, identity, sex and American culture.
12.Irma Vep (2022)
Directed by Olivier Assayas, who also made the original 1996 film, this is a deliciously meta exploration of celebrity, artistic obsession and the chaos of making movies. For cinephiles who enjoy a show that dissects its own existence, this is essential viewing.
13. Mr. Corman (2021)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt created, directed and starred in this series about Josh Corman, a public-school teacher and aspiring musician whose life hasn’t quite turned out the way he imagined. It’s a show about anxiety, loneliness, financial stress… but expect dream sequences, musical detours and some fairly unconventional storytelling.
14. My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres (2019)
No, it’s technically not a series, but it’s still weird enough that we think you should really find time for it in your binge-watch schedule. What if a comedy special were an hour-long presentation about objects? That’s essentially the premise of Julio Torres’s wonderfully peculiar and surreal My Favorite Shapes.
15. The Sympathizer (2024)
Based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, this espionage thriller follows a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy in the final days of the Vietnam War and his subsequent life as a refugee in Los Angeles. A strong pick if you’re looking for something more substantial than your standard prestige thriller.
16. Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein (2019)
The title alone should tell you that this isn’t a straightforward adaptation of Mary Shelley’s gothic novel. Starring David Harbour, Kate Berlant and Alfred Molina, this bizarre mockumentary follows Harbour as he investigates his father’s obscure theatrical legacy, uncovering increasingly ridiculous material along the way.
17. The Apology (2027)
Where to watch:Netflix (coming soon)
This is a two-season straight-to-series order from A24 that’s recently been in the headlines. It’s set to star Gwyneth Paltrow in her first leading TV role, too. She’ll be playing Evelyn Amspoker, whose son was murdered 18 years ago in a cold case that gripped the nation, but when the killer confesses, she and her husband decide they might take justice into their own hands.
18.The Gallows Pole (2024)
Where to watch:BBC iPlayer and Apple TV
If you were wondering whether A24 would ever approach a period piece, they in fact already have. But of course, in their own typically offbeat way. This one is about a community of eighteenth-century Yorkshire workers who ran an audacious counterfeiting operation.
19. Such Brave Girls (2023–2024)
This brutally funny British sitcom follows sisters Josie and Billie and their mother Deb as they navigate debt, dysfunctional relationships and an almost pathological need for validation.
20. Euphoria S3(2026)
Sam Levinson’s wildly divisive, visually stunning drama was already a smash hit. But Season 3 was backed by A24 and saw our favourite characters navigate adulthood with a kind of Tarantino-esque grit and violence. A wild ride from start to finish.
21. Untitled Jesse Eisenberg Series (upcoming)
Where to watch: Not yet announced.
Jesse Eisenberg is heading back to TV with a new A24 series he’s writing and directing. Set in autumn 2002, it follows an 18-year-old girl navigating new ideas, relationships and the beginnings of the culture wars. Details are still under wraps, but Eisenberg’s knack for awkward, painfully human characters makes this one to keep an eye on.
22. Near Dark (upcoming)
Where to watch: Not yet announced.
A24 is bringing cult vampire film Near Dark back to life as a TV series, based on Kathryn Bigelow’s 1987 original. Think outlaw vampires, dusty highways and a decidedly grittier take on the genre. There’s no cast or release date yet, but for horror fans, this one’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
