We are just three short and sweet – I mean, long and agonizing – weeks away from the 2026 edition of Rhode Island Comic Con.
This year’s convention will bring together a long list of actors, artists, voice actors, wrestlers, cosplayers, and more.
Organizers have wrapped up this year’s special guest announcements, and did so with a blockbuster name – wrestler and actor John Cena will be attending RICC on Sunday, November 8th.
Cena will be taking photos and signing autographs, but slots are limited. There’s also a dedicated fan package that includes a photo, autograph, and exclusive RICC-branded items.
Other recent guest announcements include actor Christina Ricci, wrestling superstar Mick Foley, and four voice actors from the “Sonic: The Hedgehog” gaming franchise.
In addition to who WILL be attending this year’s event, RICC has begun telling us who WON’T be in attendance.
For the first time I can remember, RICC organizers are posting each schedule change and guest cancellation, as it happens.
I consider it a great move on their part, doing more to help attendees keep track of those changes as their weekends come into focus.
So far, cancellations include author R. L. Stine, and actors George Takei, John Ratzenberger, Ariel Winter, Dan Fogler, and others.
You can keep track of cancellations by monitoring the bottom of the guests page on the Rhode Island Comic Con website.
As always, there will be a lot to do at Rhode Island Comic Con.

Besides people-watching, panels, and shopping, attendees can collect all 39 trading cards in a specially-made run available only at RICC.
A post about the cards says there will be some autographed ones mixed in, too.
The Blockbuster Experience will also be returning. For a fee, you’ll be able to shop a curated selection of classic movies, in an area meant to mimic a classic Blockbuster location.
Rhode Island Comic Con just announced the show’s official beer, too.
VoughtPA is a pale ale made by Providence’s Buttonwoods Brewery.
The name is a nod to the massive corporation featured in the Amazon Prime series, “The Boys”.

There is one new DON’T at this year’s Rhode Island Comic Con.
Organizers have banned Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, and other wearable recording devices from the convention.
The move is becoming more common among conventions and other celebrity events, despite some pushback from those who celebrate the accessibility some devices offer.
Rhode Island Comic Con says anyone caught with a wearable recording device may be removed from the event, and lose their passes or credentials.
As for the other, more common restrictions, visit RICC’s code of conduct page.
Rhode Island Comic Con is fast-approaching.
Watch for the soon to be released panel schedule, download the latest version of the Altered Reality Entertainment app, and watch the event Facebook page for late additions and changes.
Rhode Island Comic Con is Nov. 6-8 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion, the Rhode Island Convention Center, and the Omni Providence Hotel.
Tickets are available at the AMP box office, through Ticketmaster, and at all Toy Vault locations.
