Kristin Davis can’t help but wonder about the future of the Sex and the City franchise.
The actress revealed on her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?, that she’s been thinking about the final chapter for Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda now that the spinoff And Just Like That… also concluded after three seasons.
“I have trouble believing that we’re not gonna do one more thing because that’s just always how I feel,” Davis dished to her TV husband Evan Handler. “It’s fun to think about what we might do, right?”

She acknowledged one of the biggest criticisms of AJLT, “that it wasn’t the tone of Sex and the City,” and explained creator Michael Patrick King “felt very strongly” about not sticking with the past formula.
“That would be weird,” he believed, “because we’re older and we’re going through different things.”
And as the characters continue to age, there will be even more of life’s ups and downs for the longtime friends to get through together.
“In my mind, what would be nice for a final chapter, when I’m afraid we’re going to have to wait ’till we’re gray,” said Davis, is something similar to Book Club: The Next Chapter. The 2023 film stars Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen as best friends who travel to Italy for a long-overdue girls’ trip.
Sex and the City 2, released in 2010, did take the original four — Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha — to Abu Dhabi for a luxury vacation. However, the feature film was widely panned.

Davis also referenced The Five-Star Weekend starring Jennifer Garner as a possible inspiration for the next iteration of Sex and the City.
“There’s an aspirational element to all of it because of her lifestyle,” explained Davis, “and they’re filming on Nantucket and it’s incredibly beautiful.”
