For the full year, analysts expect Live Nation Entertainment to report EPS of $1.12, up 566.7% from loss per share of $0.24 in fiscal 2025. Its EPS is expected to rise 63.4% year over year to $1.83 in fiscal 2027.
LYV stock has underperformed the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 16.1% gains over the past 52 weeks, with shares up 11.1% during this period. However, it outperformed the State Street Communication Services Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLC) 2.6% downtick over the same time frame.
LYV’s mixed performance primarily stems from execution and cost pressures, legal overhangs, uneven concert timing, and higher investment spending that have weighed on the stock despite robust overall demand for live entertainment. While these headwinds, along with slower historical revenue growth and a modest 3.6% operating margin, have created a thin cushion against unexpected expenses and squeezed free cash flow, recent financial results show positive momentum. Notably, the company’s Q2 2026 earnings surpassed expectations across the board, featuring a 9% year over year revenue increase to $7.7 billion and a 156.1% surge in EPS to $1.05, accompanied by an upgraded outlook for fan growth, revenue, adjusted operating income, and margin expansion.
