A year into marriage, Selena Gomez and Benny Blancohave nothing but their same old love.
The Only Murders in the Building actress reflected on what she’s learned about her husband shortly after celebrating their first wedding anniversary Sept. 27—and she’s happy that it ain’t much.
“We know everything,” Gomez quipped to E! News in an exclusive interview at the fourth annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit in Los Angeles on Oct. 14. “At this point, we do.”
And even without surprises, who says the love between the singer and Blanco is anything but perfect?
“He called me this morning after he left the house—five minutes later and he just said, ‘You’re really changing people and I’m so proud of you and I love you,” Gomez mused of the constant admiration she receives from the record producer. “And that was the little support that I needed today because tonight, I want it to be about the cause and the mission but just to even hear that was the perfect amount of support.”
Indeed, it was all the Wizards of Waverly Place alum needed to be ready to come and get even more support for her youth mental health initiative.

Ryan Phillippe Details “Wild Night” With Ex Reese Witherspoon in Rare Marriage Comment
“I actually made the joke that I feel more nervous about this than my own wedding,” Gomez admitted. “We’re changing people’s lives here and to be able to witness it and see it and know that with all of our partners and all the people we are able to help, it gives me goosebumps.”
As she put it, “It doesn’t feel real, and I’m so grateful we can do that with the Rare Impact Fund.”
While Gomez has achieved so much in her career, she admitted it took her a long time for her to believe she wouldn’t want to be anybody else—and the message she’s sending with the Rare Impact Fund is exactly the one her younger self needed to hear.

“You are enough,” she said. “More than enough. And I think somebody maybe needs to hear that.”
Through her Rare initiative, the 34-year-old has emphasized that everyone needs tools to love their life like a love song.

“I’ve learned so much about the complexities of being a woman from my mental health to physically being OK, and also just wanting to make sure that all around I feel healthy,” Gomez told E! News last year. “And I just want people to know that everything isn’t a highlight reel. Life is very complex and different.”
In addition to her self work, Gomez’s marriage to Blanco has certainly been good for her. Keep reading for why she simply can’t keep her love for him to herself…
