An unofficial PC version of the 2018 Shadow of the Colossus remake runs through the shadPS4 emulator, offering up to 4K at 60 FPS and keyboard-and-mouse controls. It remains an early release, with visual glitches and performance drops, and requires a copy of the game.

Shadow of the Colossus is one of those PlayStation exclusives with a passionate fanbase, and the PlayStation 2-era game is widely praised for its impressive art direction and premise: players explore a mysterious, desolate landscape as they set out to destroy sixteen massive ‘colossi.’ As far as video game bosses go, the ones in Shadow of the Colossus are some of the biggest ever seen.
Shadow of the Colossus also got a 2018 remake for the PlayStation 4, developed by the now-defunct Bluepoint. In addition to all-new assets rebuilt for modern hardware, it also changed the control scheme. It received positive reviews at the time, and this version of the game has been ported to PC, unofficially, of course.
The result here looks to be based on the recent Bloodborne PC port, where the game’s x86-64 code and instructions are translated to run on a modern Windows PC with Vulkan rendering the on-screen graphics. That said, it still relies on the popular shadPS4 emulator and is still in a pre-release, relatively early state.

So far, the game supports 60 FPS modes up to 4K, including enhancements made for the PlayStation 4 Pro version, with keyboard and mouse control options in addition to using a controller. Based on early feedback from those playing this PC version of Shadow of the Colossus, the game does suffer from some visual glitches and performance issues, with 60 FPS dropping down to around 40 FPS during heavier moments on a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER.

Like other PC ports of console-exclusive titles, this doesn’t include any game assets, so you need a copy of the game plus some system modules to render audio properly. Because the PS4 is more like a PC than older consoles, with its x86 architecture, this could be considered as much an emulation of the game as a native PC port, since there’s a translation layer.
