Apple’s new Siri AI is coming to Apple TV 4K models dating back to 2021, giving existing owners the upgraded assistant without a $299 hardware purchase.
The new Siri AI beta will work on Apple TV 4K models dating back to the second generation, so owners won’t need to buy the latest hardware to use the upgraded assistant.
The feature brings a more conversational version of Siri to the television, with natural-language searches, follow-up questions, and personalized recommendations. It also introduces a full-screen interface for exploring movies and TV shows.
Users can ask Siri which Apple TV shows won Emmy Awards, request recommendations, or ask questions about something they’re watching. Responses appear in a compact overlay during playback, allowing viewers to continue watching without interrupting the screen.
Siri AI compatibility and availability
Siri AI will be available in beta with tvOS 27.2 on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later). The feature requires the home’s owner to have an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software, with Siri AI enabled in a supported language.

Apple TV 4K now features three far-field microphones, letting users control what they’re watching and discover new shows completely hands-free.
With a compatible device paired, Siri can also access personal context to handle requests such as playing a show recommended by someone in a message.
At launch, Siri AI will support English in eight countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K adds three far-field microphones for hands-free Siri commands, even while audio is playing. Older Apple TV 4K models also support Siri AI, but lack the new model’s built-in microphones.
