Two years ago, DC Comics launched its Absolute Universe, and readers have been digging the new spins on established heroes, as well as the new faces it’s introduced. For those waiting for an event to bring everyone together, you’ll be getting your wish in 2027 with Absolute Justice.
During its New York Comic Con panel, the publisher announced the five-part event from the Absolute Supermanteam of Jason Aaron and Juan Ferreyra. Thanks to Martian Manhunter, the heroes will link up, with the trailer below teasing the threat that awaits them: retaliation.
In their individual books, the heroes have drawn the attention of (or fought against) the “true rulers” of the Absolute universe. Ra’s al Ghul, Joker, Hector Hammond, Veronica Cale, and Elenore Thawne are the Justice League here, and they’ve apparently decided enough is enough. The trailer intones that the “Absolute League” will unite against their shared enemies, but that may also be the same for the heroes. We’ll see.
As the trailer shows, the stars of the first wave are all present and accounted for: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern Jo Mullein, Martian Manhunter, and Flash grace the Ferreyra-drawn cover. But what about their supporting allies like Catwoman, Steel, and the more recent Cyborg and Atom? We’ll find out when Absolute Justice begins in April 2027.
