Iowa (KWQC) -Pop culture enthusiasts, toy collectors, and cosplay fans will gather at Nerdtober Con—set to take over the RiverCenter
Presented by the QC Toy Show, the two-day convention runs Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11. The event will transform the convention center into a hub for regional vendors, retro gaming, and professional cosplay.
Organizers have confirmed a lineup of more than 100 vendor booths featuring vintage toys, comic books, trading cards, collectibles, and original apparel.
Attendees will also have access to photo opportunities with a fully customized Back to the Future DeLorean replica on the show floor.
The convention features a diverse lineup of celebrity guests available for autographs and photo opportunities including professional wrestling legends Sgt. Slaughter, Ted DiBiase, D-Von Dudley, Spike Dudley, and Jacqueline Moore.
The lineup also includes prominent voice and screen actors, such as Larry Kenney (Thundercats), Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Tony Daniels (X-Men), and Francois Chau (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II).
Nerdtober Con opens Saturday with an early bird hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by general admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no early bird admission available.
Admission tickets are available at the door and online through the official QC Toy Show website.
Saturday early bird admission and weekend passes are priced at $20. Daily general admission is $12 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday. Children ages 12 and under receive free admission when accompanied by an adult.
The RiverCenter is located at 136 E. Third St. Parking is available at the RiverCenter Parking Ramp at 102 E. Second St., which offers direct skywalk access to the convention center.
