The Athens State University Foundation andthe Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention Steering Committee are pleased to announce the musical entertainment lineup for the 2026-2027 Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Concert Series.
The six-part series, leading up to the 60th Fiddlers Convention in October 2027, will allow music enthusiasts to enjoy the sounds of old-time music all throughout the year.
The 2027 Fiddlers Concert Series schedule
- November 19, 2026 – Junior Sisk
- January 21, 2027 – The Appalachian Road Show
- March 18, 2027 – The Little Roy and Lizzy Show
- May 6, 2027 – Carson Peters and Iron Mountain
- July 22, 2027 – Songs, Stories, and Sideroads – Malpass Brothers
- September 2, 2027 – Seth Mulder & Midnight Run
All six concerts will be held at Athens State University in McCandless Hall at 7 p.m. Tickets for each show will cost $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids under 18 and can be purchased online at www.AthensFiddlers.org.
The Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention was established in 1967 after overwhelming support from two local fiddling contests. With a stated goal of reviving the tradition of old time music, the annual event, held on the historic campus of Athens State University, is known as the “Granddaddy of Mid-South Fiddlers Conventions.” Each year, hundreds of contestants visit Athens to compete for coveted titles across 14 categories – along with “shade-tree players” who bring their own instruments to perform in impromptu jam sessions.
