GungHo has high hopes for Ninjala, hoping that the series will continue for decades to come.
Ninjala is now officially a franchise. The original title came launched for Nintendo Switch in 2020, and now we’re getting the sequel on Switch 2 next year.
In an interview shared by Anime Updates a little while back, producer Motoki Kaneda was asked about what he felt the series needed to become one of GungHo’s defining franchises. He responded by talking about the goal of “longevity” – he wants to see Ninjala stick around “for 10 years, 20 years, and beyond.”
His full words are as follows:
“My goal is longevity. I want Ninjala to continue for 10 years, 20 years, and beyond. We now have Ninjala and Ninjala 2, and the key for us is continuing to grow the series over the long term. That’s what I believe success looks like.”
Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet launches on Nintendo Switch 2 next year. For those that missed it, you can check out some comments from the team here discussing why the sequel is an open-world action game.
Did you give the original Ninjala a shot? Are you going to try out the sequel next year? Let us know in the comments.
