Oct. 2 (UPI) — Disney+ is giving a glimpse of the new series Messi and the Giants.
The streaming service shared a teaser trailer for the animated sports-fantasy show Friday.
Messi and the Giants is executive produced by Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi, who retired from international soccer in August following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The teaser introduces Leo, a 12-year-old boy who “becomes trapped in an alternate reality ruled by giants,” and features the theme song “Vamos, Vamos, Vamos” by Argentine singer Luck Ra.
To get home, Leo must “compete in high-stakes, soccer-like battles using powerful ‘orbs,’ defeat legendary giants, and restore the fractured realms of ‘Iko.'”

“Unlike everyone else, Leo can’t use the world’s code powers to supercharge his game, so he relies on his real strengths — skill, teamwork and determination — turning the story into an underdog adventure about courage, perseverance and believing in yourself,” a press release reads.
Milo Burgess-Webb voices the character.

Messi and the Giants will premiere on Disney+ in summer 2027 and also air on Disney Channel in the United States.
