NBC Sports Unveils Comic Book Campaign Celebrating American Express NBA Tip-Off

NBC Sports is transforming the NBA’s biggest stars into comic book heroes with a comic book campaign to celebrate American Express Tip-Off on Oct. 20.
The comic, narrated by Mike Tirico, opens with a review of the 2025-26 season before diving into the storylines for each of the tip-off tripleheader matchups.

Blending basketball culture with bold illustrations paves another avenue for fans to enjoy their favorite players through the world of comics, from larger-than life personalities, episodic storytelling and rivalry arcs for all 30 NBA teams.
The comic thematic will be brought to several locations, beginning at ComplexCon in Los Angeles on Oct. 3-4, with an engaging custom NBA on NBC branded, life-size newsstand. Comics will be distributed to attending fans in tandem with several surprise guests, giveaways, and photo opportunities across the weekend.
Comics can also be found at New York City Comic Con beginning Oct. 8, featuring a larger-than-life, 10-foot-tall comic-book installation appearing throughout locations in Manhattan before culminating at Rockefeller Center on Oct. 19-20.
The 2026-27 season begins Tuesday, Oct. 20, on NBC and Peacock with the American Express NBA Tip-Off tripleheader, featuring Celtics-Pistons (3 p.m. ET), 76ers-Knicks (7 p.m. ET), and Thunder-Spurs (9:30 p.m. ET).
