Ciara Miller is quickstepping into a new hairstyle.
Two days after attending the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards with long, flowing waves, the Dancing With the Stars contestant debuted a new disco look complete with a rounded afro for her cha-cha routine with partner Brandon Armstrong.
Giving a peek at the ‘do on Instagram before the Sept. 29 episode, Miller wrote, “You ain’t never seen a dance like this before!”
The 30-year-old also noted during her pre-performance package that she was embodying her iconic Summer House persona named Karma Brown with the outfit and hair.
“A few years ago on Summer House, we threw a ’70s-themed party where Karma Brown was born,” she said in the clip. “She’s going to be making her grand appearance this week.”
As Miller—who also rocked two gold teeth grills—quipped, “This will be an amazing night as long as Karma can play by the rules and has those steps down.”
And it turns out “K.B.” was able to, as she and Armstrong earned sixes from all judges.
As Miller has navigated her career from Summer House to The Traitors and now Dancing With the Stars, she has reflected on how she has learned to embrace her hair after growing up “trying to assimilate to just fit in.”

“As I’ve gotten older and been more comfortable in my skin, I’ve had the confidence to experiment and play around,” she told USA Today in an interview published Sept. 28. “But it was something that didn’t always come natural to me. I wanted to be in extensions and weaves at all times.”
Now, the reality star says, “I feel like part of it is taking the power back and recognizing my God-given locks are my crown.”
Plus, Miller is hoping to use her experience as an opportunity to inspire a younger generation.
“I want girls to learn to appreciate and love their curls and their kinks and their coils from early on,” she continued. “If that means playing with your hairstyles, or if they see me playing with my hairstyles and wearing it on carpets.
At the end of the day, Miller wants those little girls to know that “no matter what our hair looks like, it is professional, it’s acceptable, it’s our hair and we are so much more beautiful because of it.”
