Atlanta’s Dragon Con is always such a splendid mix of pop-culture and nerd interests, combining everything from sci-fi, gaming, comics, movies, fantasy lit and anything else you can geek out about. It also seems to attract some of the most imaginative cosplay around, and this year is extraordinary. Thankfully Mineralblu were there to capture the best of it on film.
Not only does this selection contain some cosplay of characters we never usually see (Clone Wars‘ Barriss Offee, Dolly Parton, Dungeon Crawler Carl…), but some absolutely unique choices or fantastic crossovers that surely no one else has ever even considered. For instance, I’m not sure I’ve seen someone cosplaying the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones before, nor indeed Drogon from the same show. Joining them is a Buc-ee’s Barbie (still in its packaging), an ingenious Star Wars x X-Men “Storm” Trooper, how Totoro would look if it were in Expedition 33, and the unimprovable mushroom-clouded hair of Fallout 1776.
