Brotherhood Dance Crew, a dance group based in Canada, sparked immense Filipino pride through their winning performance.

Celebrating the rich heritage of the Philippines, Canada-based Brotherhood Dance Crew delivered a spectacular cultural homage on the International Dance League (IDL) stage in Los Angeles, California.

The group performed a high-energy routine set to Apl.de.Ap’s track “Bebot,” seamlessly blending “budots,” a viral Filipino street-dance style, with “Tinikling,” one of the Philippines’ traditional folk dances.

The celebration of Filipino pride ran deep within the crew, as several key members trace their heritage directly to the Philippines.

According to the official IDL roster, the group features Filipino and Filipino-Canadian dancers Adrian Vendiola, Alo Galedo, Angelo Admana, Francis Aranton, Jon Ray Dy Buco, Michael Delleva, and Miguel Axibal, among others.

The IDL’s inaugural 2026 tour was structured as a five-part regular season followed by a separate championship event, bringing together six premier global teams: Canada’s Brotherhood, Los Angeles’s GRV, Seoul’s 1Million, Auckland’s Royal Family, Jam Republic Southeast Asia, and Oslo’s Quick Style.

Brotherhood dominated the regular season entirely. They went undefeated across all five regular-season stops, winning titles in New York, Vancouver, Sydney, Seoul, and Los Angeles.

However, at the IDL Championship finale on September 20, local crew GRV took home the overall championship title. The group finished second at the Championship with a score of 93.57.

Brotherhood’s success comes from over ten years of winning major competitions. Choreographer Scott Forsyth formed the group in 2011 with local dancers from Surrey, British Columbia.

Since then, they have won gold at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship twice in 2013 and 2014, claimed three straight World of Dance Vancouver titles from 2013 to 2015, and earned top trophies at Body Rock in 2015 and the Vibe Dance Competition in 2017 and 2019.
