Private Eyes, the five-season detective drama that first ran from 2016 to 2021, lands on Hulu in the U.S. on October 6, 2026. It’s the first time the show will be available on a streaming platform.
The setup is simple and fun: former hockey player Matt Shade, played by Jason Priestley, teams up with private investigator Angie Everett, played by Cindy Sampson, to solve cases around Toronto. For Hulu, it adds a breezier crime series to a lineup that already includes High Potential, Will Trent, Under the Bridge, and Candy.
If you’ve been missing High Potential since season 2 wrapped in April 2026, and season 3 isn’t due until 2027, this feels like a pretty natural pick. Both shows run on sharp banter, case-of-the-week mysteries, and that easy “just one more episode” quality. Hulu already seems to know there’s an audience for that.
The timing matters for another reason too. If you’re curious about the spin-off, Private Eyes West Coast, that one premieres on October 5. Still, a few details are worth keeping straight: there’s no widely cited official announcement from Hulu yet, there are still no international streaming details, and there hasn’t been any public reaction from the cast or creators. Some early reports also got the format wrong and called Private Eyes a “5-part” series, when it’s actually five full seasons.
