It turns out that getting a second controller for any system can be pretty darn expensive. It’s not a fun time, but it is nice to invest in something a little fancier, if you’re looking to do so. There are few consoles where that’s more important than the Switch 2 (and the Switch) because not everyone likes the Joy-Cons. If you’re looking for a more traditional option, then the Pro Controller is there, but it’s far from the only one you can actually get.

This controller is absolutely incredible. It’s supremely comfortable, with some people preferring over the excellent Nintendo Switch Pro controller, and it’s got a little bit more style to it. The analog sticks actually light up, and it adds a nice Nintendo touch to the whole thing that’s hard to resist. It’s still got the same asymmetrical set up most of us love, and it’s also got the button layout you’d expect as well. It’s absolutely packed with different features as well, so let’s go over those.
You’re getting triggers you can actually switch between hall effect and tactile modes, which means you can have you controller feel how you want it to. You’re also still getting amazing vibration, and the excellent motion controls that you absolutely need in some Nintendo Switch 2 games. It even has two back buttons you can use however you’d like too. On top of all of that, it comes with it’s very own charging dock, and if you’re someone who constantly forgets to charge their Switch 2 controllers, then that could well be the most important part of all. It’s us, we forget to charge things.
There aren’t many companies that can rival the heavy-hitting first-party offerings when it comes to controllers, but 8Bitdo is definitely one of the few. This is a phenomenal controller in every sense of the word, and the chance to get it for $58 is way too good to ignore.
