Carrie-Anne Moss‘s new mystery thriller that reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga has a new trailer. The upcoming show has an October premiere date and follows a private investigator investigating the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery.
Yaga will premiere on AMC+ on Friday, October 23, 2026, with two episodes. The eight-episode series is based on Kat Sandler’s hit play, with Sandler serving as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. It stars Noah Reid as private investigator Rapp, with Moss, Clark Backo, and Hudson Williams also leading the cast.

What do we see in the Yaga trailer?
The trailer introduces Rapp, a private investigator who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock. He is looking into the disappearance of Henry Park (Williams), a young heir to a powerful fishery. However, the case soon takes a strange turn.
Rapp finds himself at odds with local detective Carson (Backo), who appears wary of his investigation. He also crosses paths with Katherine (Moss), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men.
Rapp’s investigation brings him into contact with a series of enigmatic suspects. As he digs further into Henry’s disappearance, he begins to uncover secret lives and strange events surrounding the town. The trailer gradually shifts from a missing-person mystery toward something more supernatural.
The Baba Yaga mythology also plays a major role in the trailer. Rather than presenting the figure in a traditional setting, the series incorporates the folklore into a contemporary mystery. The footage combines the investigation with supernatural elements as Rapp gets closer to the truth.
The trailer features Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette’s cover of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch,” which adds to its eerie atmosphere.
