Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) used its Connect event to outline an expanded artificial intelligence strategy centered on Muse, a personal agent the company said is designed to help users complete tasks, manage information and interact across devices.
The event’s keynote speaker described personal superintelligence as a technology that could give users “an extremely capable personal agent” that understands their goals and can work on their behalf. Meta said its approach is to distribute the technology broadly, rather than concentrate it among a small number of organizations.

Meta’s Muse Highlights Arm’s Growing Role in AI Infrastructure
Muse, which Meta said it shipped several weeks ago, is intended to evolve into a personal agent used by billions of people. The company said each Muse has its own private and secure virtual machine, or Muse secure VM, and that the Muse Spark model is trained specifically for personal-agent tasks.

Meta also announced Computer Vision capabilities for Muse on Mac. With a user’s permission, Wang said, the agent will be able to operate apps on the computer and continue working on queued tasks while the user is away. The company is also developing an email capability that would allow users to add Muse to an email thread or forward emails for it to handle.
