Mip London to end as RX preps fandom event

Mip Talks to be held in UK in mid-March around London Book Fair as distributor-focused market shuttered after two years

Mip London will not return in 2026 but organiser RX France has unveiled a new London event around The London Book Fair (LBF).

Mip London was launched in 2025 around the already established London TV Screenings that takes place in late February and was labelled as a “multi-genre TV market and networking event”.

Held at the Savoy and the IET, it was again held this year but was widely expected to shutter after failing to attract broad support from distributors, many of whom already hold their own events with the London TV Screenings schedule.

RX France is now instead turning its attention to Mip Talks, which will run 16–17 March 2027 alongside LBF. The book-focused event is owned by RX France sibling Reed Exhibitions.

Mip Talks will take place at London ExCel and will look “beyond traditional television and content to the wider cultural, creative, technological and commercial shifts reshaping global <a href="https://comicvibe.com/movie-concert-tickets-to-get-costlier-in-mumbai-bmcs-proposes-up-to-570-<a href="https://comicvibe.com/how-mobile-technology-is-transforming-sports-entertainment-in-india/” title=”How Mobile Technology Is Transforming Sports Entertainment in India”>entertainment-tax-hike/” title=”Movie, concert tickets to get costlier in Mumbai? The event’s inaugural editorial theme is ‘From IP to Fandom – and Fandom to Global Business’, exploring how ideas and audiences translate into global business.

It aims to bring together senior execs alongside creators, entrepreneurs, authors, athletes, brands, platforms and emerging businesses.

Lucy Smith, director of entertainment at RX France, said: “The boundaries of entertainment have all but disappeared. IP can come from anywhere, audiences don’t think in sectors and an idea can travel further and faster than ever before.

“Mip has always been about understanding where the entertainment business is going next. Mip Talks at The London Book Fair takes that curiosity further bringing together the people shaping what breaks through, how fandom is built and where new global businesses are emerging.”

The London Book Fair takes place at ExCel London from 16–18 March. Registration opens in November.
