For the first time, the National Film Awards ceremony moved out of Delhi, with the 72nd edition being held in Kevadia, Gujarat, near the Statue of Unity, on September 22. Among the attendees, Kartik Aaryan stood out with his public appearance, sporting a sleek black suit, a style that communicates both sophistication and charm.

Kartik Aaryan was announced as theNational Film Award winnerin the Best Actor category for his role in Chandu Champion, marking the first time in 15 years that the actor has recieved India’s top cinematic accolade. For the ceremony, the actor wore a contemporary yet classic black ensemble that perfectly blends sophistication and style. The black bandhgala suit exuded polished refinement and perfectly mirrored the significance of the moment.
Kartik’s parents have also accompanied him to Gujarat to be with him as he receives the prestigious honour. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards during the ceremony on Tuesday.

Speaking to ANI about the honour, Kartik expressed gratitude and said, “I have received my first National Award for Chandu Champion.I am truly, incredibly happy – my entire family is overjoyed, and our whole team is thrilled. Reflecting on the journey we began with Chandu Champion and the way this film inspires so many people – especially regarding the Paralympians – I can only express my gratitude to the jury and the entire audience across India for choosing us.”
The 72nd National Film Awards brought together the exceptional talents of Indian cinema under one roof. The prestigious event was graced by celebrities such as Mammootty, Yami Gautam, Sanjay Mishra, Randeep Hooda, Dhanush, Anant Nag, among others. This is the first time the ceremony is being held outside New Delhi.
Established in 1954, the National Film Awards are awarded for distinction in Feature Films, Non-Feature Films and Writing on Cinema categories. These awards come in various languages, regions and structures of Indian filmmaking.
