After a delay from the planned April release, deep sea story-based puzzle game Echoes of Mora VR released today on Steam, with an optional flatscreen mode.
One very important note:developer Selkies Interactive released two different versions of the game, a cheaper version that is flatscreen only for $14.99 and the VR version for $17.99 that supports both VR and flatscreen. If you want to play in VR, be sure to get thecorrect version.

Selkies, a team of three German master’s students, describes Echoes of Mora as a 2-3-hour exploration of a flooded Italian village to help the titular Mora find out what happened to her missing brother. Portals offer glimpses into the past before the village was underwater. It’s a gentle experience with no fail states (i.e. game over scenarios), combat, or peril, so you are free to play the game at your pace. The game has two endings, depending on a choice you make at the game’s conclusion, and other choices in dialogue during the game can make some scenes play out in a different order.
Echoes was delayed from its spring release as Selkies was in negotiations with a potential publisher. That deal ‘came and went’ according to a developer’s post on Steam.
Echoes of Mora VR is available now on Steam. I am currently playing the game and will have a full review soon. There is a VR-supported demo available as well.
