The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered was recently updated on Nintendo Switch 2, but unfortunately, it looks like that ended up making things worse – to the point that some players feel it’s now unplayable.
Bethesda’s patch notes mentioned that version 1.1 brought on all sorts of fixes. However, the publisher somehow missed a number of graphical issues now impacting the game.
Here’s a comparison pre-patch (left) and post-past (right):
Issues such as blurriness, ghosting, and lowered visual quality have been among the complaints. Thankfully, Bethesda is already looking into the situation. A new support page has been opened, and it’s confirmed that the company is “investigating this issue”.
The official response is as follows:
We are receiving reports that some players on Nintendo Switch 2 are experiencing increased image blurring, ghosting, and reduced visual quality in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered after installing Update 1.1. We are currently investigating this issue and will update this article when we have more information.
Affected players report symptoms that may include:
- Increased ghosting or image trails when moving the camera or character.
- Blurry or lower-quality visuals compared to previous versions.
- Reduced image sharpness and detail.
- Visual flickering or instability in some scenes.
If you would like to be updated when we have more information on this topic, log into the help website and select “Subscribe to Article” on this page.
Many players have likely already updated to the latest version at this point. If you haven’t though, we’d advise holding off until a fix is in place. We’ll let you know when the next patch goes live.
