The newly released Season 4 production announcement visual hints that the romantic battle surrounding Iori may be about to heat up even further.
Grand Blue Dreaming is a coming of age diving comedy that begins when protagonist Iori Kitahara moves to a seaside town to attend university and starts living at GRAND BLUE, the diving shop run by his uncle.
Iori arrives looking forward to beautiful seas, a cute childhood friend, and the campus life he has always dreamed of. Instead, he finds himself surrounded by an all male diving club and an endless stream of drinking parties. Kohei Imamura, a friend he meets at university, also joins the club, and the two soon find themselves spending their days getting naked.
The series is based on the manga currently serialized in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon magazine. The manga has surpassed 11 million copies in circulation.
Grand Blue Dreaming was adapted into a television anime in 2018, followed by a live action film in 2020. The series has also received a stage adaptation.
