Sheldon Creed has swerved past Justin Allgaier to take the lead in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series playoffs. The Chase has not provided the friendliest start to Allgaier’s run to a second driver’s championship in three years. Allgaier opened up The Chase with two of his worst finishes of the season. Now he heads into the third race of The Chase at Bristol Motor Speedway in second place. Creed has taken over the lead with a win and a runner-up finish in the first two races. Those two performances pushed Creed into first place with 2,175 points. Allgaier is in second place with 2,172 points. Jesse Love has the other win to start The Chase, moving him into fourth place with 2,159 points.
