PS Plus Essential users will get a free PS5 RPG after being told that they were not eligible to claim it. As reported yesterday, Fallout 76‘s native PS5 upgrade launched a day ago, but only those who previously purchased the PS4 version or have a PS Plus Extra/Premium membership are currently able to claim it at no additional cost. However, that will soon change.
Bethesda RPG Fallout 76 offering free PS5 upgrade, here’s when it will become available
Fallout 76 was included in January 2023’s PS Plus monthly lineup. Those who claimed the title back then will be able to download and keep the PS5 port starting Friday, September 25, 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT.
If you’re unsure whether you claimed Fallout 76 in January 2023, head over to your games library and search for the title.
As a reminder here’s what’s included in the PS5 upgrade:
- Targeted 60 FPS across Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro.
- Improved draw distances.
- Improved shadows.
- 4K resolution (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series X, Xbox One X, PS5 Pro.
- VRR (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS5 Pro.
- PS5 and PS4 Pro will support 1440p while previous generation platforms will continue to support 1080p.
