Cathryn Lai’s Background in Gaming Technology and Operations
Cathryn Lai has more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry. Previous leadership roles cover product management, commercial operations and marketing.
Her career includes senior positions at the legacy gaming technology business Scientific Games – now Light & Wonder Inc. – and at sports betting technology provider OpenBet. Most recently she served as chief operating officer of Sands Digital Services, the online gaming arm established by casino group Las Vegas Sands Corp.
Las Vegas Sands decided in late 2025 to discontinue Sands Digital Services after concluding that further investment in the online-gaming business was no longer aligned with the group’s long-term strategy. Interblock stated that Lai’s experience in both land-based and digital gaming would support the company’s expansion and product development.
