For Aliythia, streaming was never supposed to become quite this big. What started on Twitch has grown into a full-time career and now, the Queensland creator is sitting at the top of one of the platform’s biggest subscription rankings in Australia. As of the end of August, Aliythia was the most-subscribed female streamer in Australia, while also holding the country’s No. 1 spot for Tier 3 subscriptions. She has also spent the past year at the top of Australia’s Tier 3 ranking.
Twitch ANZ congratulated her on the achievement, calling the result “incredible” and “well deserved.”
The numbers only tell part of the story.
She says: “Becoming Australia’s most subscribed female Twitch streamer feels so surreal. I never imagined streaming would become my career, let alone that I would reach a milestone like this. I’m incredibly proud and so grateful for the amazing community we’ve built, and I feel very lucky to do what I love every day.”

From competitive games to a community built around Aliythia
Aliythia has been streaming on Twitch since 2014, originally building her audience around competitive games including popular titles likeApex Legends, Fortnite, VALORANT and Overwatch.
Those games are still part of her streams, but her channel has evolved considerably. These days, viewers are just as likely to find her talking directly to chat, playing a variety of games, taking part in themed streams or appearing in cosplay. Her biggest category by hours watched is Just Chatting, where the game often takes a back seat to the conversation with her community.
What makes a Tier 3 subscription different?
Twitch subscriptions give viewers a way to financially support a streamer each month. Tier 1 is the standard subscription, while Tier 2 and Tier 3 offer higher-priced ways to support a channel, alongside additional subscriber benefits.
Tier 3 is the most expensive of the three. So while having a large follower count can show how many people have discovered a streamer, a high Tier 3 subscription count shows something slightly different: how many viewers are willing to spend significantly more to support that particular creator and their community.
That makes Aliythia’s position particularly notable.

Inspiring the next generation of female content creators!
Her achievement also comes at a time when the gaming audience itself continues to change.
The Australia Plays 2025 report from IGEA and Bond University found that 82 per cent of Australians play video games, with women making up 51 per cent of Australian players.
The number of women playing games, however, doesn’t automatically translate into equal representation among streamers. Female creators continue to face challenges that their male counterparts don’t always experience to the same degree, including harassment, objectifying comments and differences in commercial opportunities. That makes Aliythia’s position at the top of Australia’s female Twitch subscription rankings stand out even more. She’s not simply one of Australia’s biggest female gaming creators. She is currently sitting at the top of the country’s overall Tier 3 subscription ranking too.
Australians increasingly become comfortable paying individual creators directly. Telsyte’s Australian Subscription Entertainment Study 2025estimated the direct-to-creator subscription market in Australia at around $500 million a year, excluding adult content and advertising or revenue-share income. The figure covers subscriptions to individual creators across platforms including Twitch, YouTube, Patreon and Substack.
In other words, paying a creator directly is becoming less unusual. Aliythia is one example of what that can look like when a streamer builds a large enough community around themselves. Viewers are there for Aliythia and her community.
Aliythia has spent more than a decade building a presence on Twitch, moving from a gaming-focused channel into something much broader and more personal. The games may change. The trends will come and go but the community is what remains. Along the way, she has inspired so many Australians to keep streaming and follow their passions.
