N.Y. (WROC) — Flower City Comic Con is under way. Cosplayers in the area had a chance to show off their favorite outfits during a special parade to kick it all off
Hosted at Homesteads for Hope, the free event featured live music, food trucks, and of course plenty of costumes. Organizers say the cosplay community feels like a family. That sentiment was especially present at yesterday’s event.
“There are so many people that don’t have the community that cosplay brings together— you have a lot of people on the spectrum— you have a lot of people who don’t have the social skills to come out — and once a year — or twice a year if we’re having more events — you can come out and be with the people,” said Anne Leibeck, Board of Directors for Flower City Comic Con.
The parade marked the opening of the 10th Flower City Comic Con. The convention is taking place at TSE over in Gates and runs through Sunday.
