The dock handles HDMI 2.0 output, USB 3.0, and pass-through PD charging through three ports on a device that fits in a jacket pocket. On Switch and Switch 2, you get 1080p at 60Hz, the same output you’d get from Nintendo’s official dock. Steam Deck users who want 4K/60Hz output can get it here, though that outcome depends on having a TV that supports it and an HDMI 2.0 cable to match. The one hard limitation is the Switch Lite: That model doesn’t support TV mode at all.

The quick and easy setup goes like this: Power it with a 15V/2.6A or 20V/3A PD wall charger (the Switch or Switch 2 charger handles this), connect an HDMI cable to your TV, plug the dock’s USB-C output into the console, and wake the Switch. The TV signal typically picks up within 3 to 8 seconds. It’s not all that different from setting up Nintendo’s own dock, except the pdobq version folds into a travel bag without looking and feeling like a brick.
With this deal you’re replacing the official Nintendo dock, which runs $75 to $90 depending on where you buy it, or the Nintendo Switch 2 dock at $90. We’re not saying those docks are a ripoff — Nintendo’s hardware tends to hold up well — but if your use case is a second dock at a relative’s house, a hotel, or just not risking your primary dock in a backpack, $15 is a hard yes. Third-party docks at this price have historically carried risk of damaging consoles through incorrect voltage behavior, but the pdobq unit claims current and voltage protection built in.

The dock’s USB 3.0 port adds utility beyond gaming, supporting a connected keyboard or mouse for desktop-mode use on Steam Deck. Nintendo’s official dock includes USB 3.0 ports as well, so there’s no regression there.
The tiny $15 Amazon price means the pdobq Switch Docking Station isn’t asking you to overcommit to anything. It either works in your setup or it doesn’t, and you’ve spent less than what a fast food lunch would cost you to find out.
