Tammy has no plans to walk away from her Christian faith, even if some fellow believers question whether it can coexist with her adult-content career.
The “Double Lives of Suburban Wives” star spoke candidly to Fox News Digital about being kicked out of a church over her career, saying the experience challenged her faith in people, but not in God.
“Me being kicked out of the church that I was at was a real, I think, testament to my faith, in that it never wavered my faith in God,” Tammy told Fox News Digital. “It, of course, made me look at my faith in people.”

Tammy said she ultimately chose forgiveness rather than allowing the experience to change her relationship with her faith.
“I did have to, like, choose to forgive for my own heart that, you know, people are people. People make wrong judgments,” she said. “You know, they’re doing their best of what they think to, like, lead us in the way that they think they should.”

“But ultimately, at the end of the day, God knows my heart,” Tammy continued. “You know, God has purpose even in my life right now, as I’m sitting in this chair, you know, that pastor didn’t know about. And I lean into that more than I do human opinions.”
Tammy is one of the women featured on TLC’s “Double Lives of Suburban Wives,” which follows six couples in the St. Louis area balancing marriage, parenthood and suburban life with careers creating adult content.
Tammy and her husband, Drew, have been building a business together since college and now work together creating adult content. TLC describes the couple as a steady presence within the group, while Tammy wrestles with how her faith fits into the life they’ve created.

The series, which premiered Aug. 9, follows the women as they confront judgment, family expectations and the complications that come with balancing different parts of their lives.
Asked directly whether she believes what she does for a living is a sin, Tammy acknowledged the conflict.
“I think there are sinful elements, obviously, I’m not going to ignore that, but just like everything else in life, we are not perfect,” Tammy told Fox News Digital.
“But I think out of that imperfection, God can still do amazing things, and I’m focusing on that,” she continued. “And, you know, I hope that I’m still open, that God can open up doors in my life and change me in the way that He wants to change me.”
Tammy also had a message for Christians who believe her faith and career are incompatible.

“I would just challenge them to look at their own lives,” she said.
Tammy pointed to the Christian teaching about casting the first stone while arguing that no believer is without sin.
“I mean, in the Bible, it says, like, you know, you who’ve cast the first stone, you know, like we’re not all blameless and sinless,” she said. “Like the whole point of Christianity is that Jesus died for our sins, because nobody by their works was going to be perfect to earn that.”
“And it’s through that grace that we are allowed to be with God and be in communion with God,” Tammy continued. “And even though my sin looks different from yours, we’re all still imperfect.”
Her co-star Brianna, who joined Tammy for the interview, interjected, “Who’s to say that your sin is worse?”

Tammy added, “Yeah, or yours is just hidden and mine I’m open about.”
Tammy acknowledged that reconciling her faith with her career remains an internal struggle.
Asked whether she has ever seriously considered walking away from adult-content creation because of her religious beliefs, Tammy said the question still crosses her mind.
“I think it’s an internal struggle that always pops in your head,” she told Fox News Digital.
But Tammy said her reasons for entering the business are also tied closely to her family.
“The whole point of why I got into content creation was to have more family time and to have some more wholesome things where I can be there for my kids and provide for my kid in ways that I didn’t have before,” she said. “So to consider one without the other just doesn’t do it justice.”

Appearing on television has also brought the criticism Tammy was already accustomed to receiving closer to home.
“We are getting a lot more hate, but that hate has always been there,” Tammy said. “It’s just, I think, more in our face because of TV.”
“But we still deal with it the same,” she added. “We try our best to know that this is who we are. We’re good parents, we’re good friends. We are just trying to live our lives just like everybody else.”
Tammy said she and Drew understood that putting their lives on television would invite greater scrutiny, making their reasons for participating important.
“We had to know for sure, for sure, for sure that we’re gonna be okay,” she said.

For Tammy, the opportunity was about more than appearing on television.
“It’s not just to be like, oh, I have my five minutes of fame on TV,” she told Fox News Digital. “It’s like we obviously have a lot to speak about as people and about the judgments and the stigmas and a lot of the misinformation that surrounds what we do.”
“Content creation has… it’s not going away,” she continued. “And so I just felt like this was such a great opportunity to be able to come out and actually educate people that are curious on really what goes on behind the scenes.”
Some of that judgment has also followed Tammy into her everyday life.

During the series, viewers saw an incident involving Tammy and other cast members at her gym. Despite the encounter, Tammy told Fox News Digital she continues to work out there about five days a week.
While she said the gym’s main staff has remained supportive, Tammy claimed some fellow gym members have become more confrontational.
“There have been some gym goers that now, like, feel brazen to, you know, to come out and be nasty towards me,” she said. “But I will say that the gym has really stuck up for me in that regard so far.”

And Tammy said the criticism hasn’t made her consider leaving St. Louis.
“Heck no, I will not be pushed out of spaces,” she told Fox News Digital.
“I am a normal deserving human being, just like everybody else,” Tammy continued. “Even if you don’t agree with what I do, like I still deserve to be in spaces.”
That determination, she said, is also why she continues returning to the same gym.
“I’m not being pushed out spaces and I think we have to stand our ground with that, because otherwise like we are just gonna get bullied over and… pushed out,” she said.
“No, I deserve to live where I want to live,” Tammy continued. “My family deserves to live with the same respect, privacy, safety as everybody else.”
