Disney+ Unveils Trailer for ‘The Remarried Empress’ Series
The trailer for Disney+’s ‘The Remarried Empress’ teases royal intrigue, romance, and political drama ahead of its November release.
Disney+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming fantasy romance series, ‘The Remarried Empress,’ which is set to premiere on November 4, 2026. This highly anticipated series is based on the popular Naver Webtoon that has attracted nearly three billion views globally. The show promises to blend romance with political intrigue, drawing viewers into a world of royal betrayal and ambition.
The storyline revolves around Empress Navier, portrayed by Shin Min-a, who finds her seemingly perfect marriage to Emperor Sovieshu, played by Ju Ji-hoon, deteriorating when he becomes enamoured with Rashta, a runaway slave portrayed by Lee Se-young. This love triangle not only puts the royal couple’s relationship at risk but also upends the power dynamics between the Eastern and Western Kingdoms.
As the plot unfolds, Navier’s situation intensifies, leading her to seek permission from Sovieshu to remarry Crown Prince Heinrey, played by Lee Jong-suk, thus setting off a series of events that could have dire consequences for both kingdoms involved.
The show is directed by Cho Su-won, known for his work on productions such as ‘I Can Hear Your Voice’ and ‘Still 17.’ The scripts are penned by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choong-yeol. The series will kick off with four episodes streamed simultaneously, followed by the release of two new episodes every Wednesday until November 25, 2026.
Before its official launch, ‘The Remarried Empress’ will make a splash at the Busan International Film Festival. Three episodes will be showcased in the festival’s On Screen section, offering a combined runtime of 151 minutes. This premiere will provide an early glimpse into the rich storytelling and production values that the series aims to deliver.
As anticipation builds for its streaming debut, audiences are eager to witness how this tale of love, power, and betrayal will unfold. The intricate relationships among the four main characters promise to keep viewers engaged as they navigate their tumultuous fates within the royal court.
