Savannah Guthrie Reacts to Allison Janney’s Heartfelt Message About Nancy Guthrie After Emmys Win 

Savannah Guthrieis ready to give her own award toAllison Janney.

Indeed, theTodayhost expressed her gratitude to theDiplomatstar for spotlightingNancy Guthrie‘s kidnapping again after she won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2026 Emmys on Sept. 14.

Janney reflected on Nancy’sdisappearanceafter winning her eighth Emmy, telling reporters in the press room that she thinks about the case “every day.”

“I think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through,” she explained. “It truly, it just took over. I don’t think I’m alone, too. I think all of America was thinking about her.”

It’s a moment the morning show anchor will hold close.

“I was so touched to see her do that. It’s her moment of her triumph,” Guthrie said on the Sept. 15 episode of Today, sharing how incredible it was for the actress to “sit and just take a moment and think about our family.”

“I never let a moment pass if I get one to talk about my mom and how much we miss her and love her,” she continued. “My whole family, my sister, my brother and I and all of our extended families are in such pain. We just need help.”

The talk show host—whose 84-year-old mother was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home seven months ago—was thankful for the chance to speak about the ongoing investigation once again.

“Thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and for giving an opportunity for me to renew that call,” Guthrie, 54, concluded. “We just want our mom home, to give her a proper goodbye. That’s all.”

As theWest Wingalum celebrated her latest accolade, she admitted that she was surprised by the win after seeing her potential chance on a prediction website.

“It said I have a 2 percent chance of winning,” she exclusively told E! News backstage. “So, I was like, ‘OK. I’m just going to go and have a great time. I’m so happy to be in the room.'”

As she held the trophy close, however, she had a message for anyone who has doubted their own success. 

“This is just to say,” Janney, 66, emphasized, “no one should ever, ever look at the oddsmakers because they don’t know anything.”
