Crunchyroll has announced the international theatrical release dates for Witch on the Holy Night, the new anime fantasy film from TYPE-MOON and ufotable. The film will be released in theatres in India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and several other markets on January 29, 2027, with earlier releases planned for some regions.

Witch on the Holy Night will be distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures <a href="https://comicvibe.com/entertainment-world-buzz-tech-oligarchs-tributes-and-touring-titans/” title=”Entertainment World Buzz: Tech Oligarchs, Tributes, and Touring Titans”>Entertainment. The film will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles as well as with an English dub.

The movie is animated by ufotable, the studio known for its work on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and several major TYPE-MOON adaptations. Witch on the Holy Night is based on the 2012 visual novel of the same name, written by Kinoko Nasu and developed by TYPE-MOON.

TYPE-MOON is best known for the Fate franchise, which began with the visual novel Fate/stay night and has since expanded into anime, manga, games, and feature films. TYPE-MOON and ufotable have previously worked together on the Garden of sinners, Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], and the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] theatrical trilogy.

Witch on the Holy Night follows Aoko Aozaki, an ordinary high school girl who is secretly an apprentice Magician living in the modern world. She spends her days living with her housemate, Alice Kuonji, while working toward becoming a full-fledged Magician.

Aoko’s life changes when she meets a boy, beginning the story of a young girl and the Witch she is becoming.

The film marks another collaboration between TYPE-MOON and ufotable following their earlier work on the Garden of sinners and the Fate series. The two companies have been working together across theatrical and TV anime projects since the 2000s and 2010s, including the Garden of sinners films, Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], and the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy.

The international theatrical rollout begins earlier in some regions. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will get the film on January 21, followed by Austria, Germany, and German-speaking Switzerland on January 26. France, Belgium, and French-speaking Switzerland are scheduled for January 27.

On January 28, the film will release in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Central America, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolitalian-speaking Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand

January 29 will bring the film to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Finland, Poland, Sweden, and India. Spain and Kazakhstan are scheduled for February 5.
