- The company spotlighted Roblox Build, an AI-driven tool for making games by describing what you want, and noted creator payouts totaled $1.7 billion over the past 12 months.
What Roblox announced
At its Sept. 11 developer gathering, Roblox laid out updates aimed at both sides of the platform. Game makers will be able to create titles that run as standalone applications on mobile, PCs and consoles. On the player side, Roblox said you’ll be able to enter games directly in a web browser with no download, continue playing even when you’re offline, and carry on chats with friends across different experiences.
AI gets a bigger role
Roblox highlighted a new tool called Roblox Build, which is designed to let users without game design experience describe a concept and turn it into a playable experience. In a Bloomberg TV interview on Monday, Chief Executive Officer David Baszucki said, “We believe we’re finally to the point where, in our mobile app, anyone’s going to be able to make a 2D game, a 3D game, puzzle game, whatever they’re interested in.” Bloomberg also featured the segment “Roblox CEO: AI Will Create More Game Makers,” noting Roblox Build is intended to enable game creation straight from the mobile app.
Growth, audiences and a GTA ripple
Roblox has been working to reignite momentum after reporting slower user growth that followed new online safety measures. Baszucki noted that when Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.’s latest Grand Theft Auto arrives, it may prompt more people to play and to create games. He added, “We’re going to see more and more content not just for younger players but for older players on the platform too.”

Why this matters for your wallet
If game building gets easier and playing gets more seamless, that can pull in more creators and keep users engaged longer, which supports the broader creator economy. It also hints at a platform courting older audiences alongside its core base. For anyone tracking where attention and digital spending go next, these shifts are worth watching as they can shape which platforms grow and where new income streams for creators emerge.
