Diablo: an animated series in the works with Netflix
The world of Diablo is headed for an animated series from Blizzard <a href="https://comicvibe.com/miral-invests-aed12bn-in-pipeline-of-new-tourism-and-entertainment-enhancements-on-yas-island/” title=”Miral invests AED12bn+ in pipeline of new tourism and entertainment enhancements on Yas Island”>Entertainment, in collaboration with Netflix. Announced at BlizzCon 2026’s opening ceremony, the project currently has no definitive title or premiere date.
For now, Blizzard says only that this new animated series will be set in the Diablo universe. The publisher has yet to outline its plot, its characters, or the time period in which it will unfold. There is no indication at this point whether it will directly adapt one of the games or tell an original story.
The dark fantasy saga unfolds mainly in Sanctuary, a world torn by the war between Heaven and Hell. Its various installments, including Diablo IV, pit players against demonic armies and the incarnate powers, notably Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto. This mythology thus offers multiple eras and figures ripe for a potential TV adaptation.
